March 22 – My good friend Annie Deck Miller and I were sitting in a bar watching Ryan Miller and Paul Gaustad walk by and looking for blog names. Originally, I wanted to use “The View From Here” but it turns out about a million and a half other people had that brilliant idea.
Azimuth is Arabic for direction, and an azimuth of a celestial body is the bearing of the body from your position, as measured clockwise from true North. So for example, from dawn to mid-day, the sun move from East to South and has an Azimuth of 0 to 180 degrees. An azimuth bearing uses all 360° of a compass to indicate direction.
The Arabic is appropriate as well, as what finally motivated me to set up a blog is the fact that I was travelling from New York to Cairo, Egypt and staying for a while.
Very cool! Looking forward to following you and this blog, along whatever paths the celestial bodies guide you. xoxo!
Hmmm – I tried to post this once and don’t see it…I look forward to following you and your blog along whatever paths the celestial bodies lead you on!! xoxo!
Aha – I just can’t view comments in the mobile app. Hope you are LOVINGyour days there!!
